Biography

David Luck, born on Wyoming’s high plains during a nasty June snowstorm, grew up on ranches and farms along the two Laramie Rivers in southeastern Wyoming. He attended Colorado State University, and served in the US Army.

David has been writing for 20 years. In 1999, prostatic cancer (now resolved) helped define his writing about the challenges men face in life, especially as the years pass, and is expressed in his second book, Men Are.

After moving from an isolated mountain cabin to a home near Sloan’s Lake in Denver, Colorado, Luck was intrigued by the activity surrounding the lake. He used these situations as fodder for this new book, Scraps.

David enjoys motivational speaking from his perspective, “Writing from a Cowboy Heart. He has retired as a veterinary orthopedic surgeon and continues to enjoy writing, traveling, and riding his bicycle. He and his wife, Shirley, now live in Berthoud.
